The AUSTRAC CEO may revoke an exemption issued to a reporting entity under section 248 of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006.
An exemption may be revoked at the request of the reporting entity or at the discretion of the AUSTRAC CEO.
As a result of amendments (arising from the commencement of the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Serious and Organised Crime) Act (No.2) 2010) to definitions related to the provision of designated remittance arrangements under the AML/CTF Act, changes are required to certain definitions contained within Declaration 1 of 2010. To effect these changes, the AUSTRAC CEO has revoked Declaration 1 of 2010 and issued Declaration 2 of 2010. These changes ensure that all entities that are required to report international funds transfer instructions under the AML/CTF Act may do so, electronically, in a modified format until 12 September 2010.
